| On March 26, 2000, while returning from a recruiting trip to Michigan, God spoke clearly and directly to Doug Reese to begin a web-base athletic ministry, thus TTNL was conceived.
Doug Reese is orginally from Geneva, IL where he was an outstanting three-sport athlete. As a sophomore in high school in February of 1973, Reese made a personal commitment to Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade in Chicago, and since that time he has been a very active participant in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Reese graduated with a Physical Education and Industrial Education degree from Northern Michigan University in 1980. Six months following graduation, Reese joined the football coaching staff at Wheaton College (IL), then served as offensive line coach (1982-1986) and interim head football coach (1985) at Michigan Technological University. For three seasons (1988-1991), Reese served as assistant head football coach and head wrestling coach at Hernando High School in Brooksville, Florida where he was named both Gulf Coast Conference and Tampa Tribune Coach of the Year in 1991. In July of 1991, Reese joined the athletic staff as head wrestling coach and assistant football coach at the University of Minnesota-Morris. In 1995, Reese left coaching football to take over the role as head women's cross country coach. In twelve seasons on the mat at UM-Morris, Reese has developed 101 All-Americans, 31 Academic All-Americans, and has produced 16 U.S. National Team Members, with 10 of his athletes representing the United States in world championship competition. Reese has achieved recognition as a Gold Level Certified Coach from USA Wrestling, and has coached in five world championships and the Pan-American Championships. In addition, Reese has led his UM-Morris athletes to seven U.S. National Freestyle Championships. Reese served for eight years on the USA Wrestling Board of Directors, while also tending to various committee roles within the organization. Reese is also an accomplished writer, having published dozens of articles on training athletes for competition. Doug Reese is still active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving most recently as conference speaker and clinician, as well as directing a college huddle fellowship group at UM-Morris. Reese also is a strong supporter of Athletes In Action, participating in missions trip to Central American and to Russia with AIA Wrestling. Doug Reese lives with his wife, Rosanne and his three children in Morris, Minnesota. The Reese's attend the Community Church in Morris. |
